If you invest a minimum of 250,000 USD in Turkish real estate you earn the right to apply for Turkish citizenship for yourself and your spouse and any child under the age of 18 on the date of your application. Upon your declaration of your intent to apply for citizenship through the General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre, the appraisers of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization will check and verify the real value of your properties. You can either purchase just one property or multiple properties with a combined value of 250,000 USD or more. You have to hold on to your properties for at least 3 years as a prerequisite for the citizenship application.

If following the appraisal you are deemed to be a suitable candidate for citizenship, the Ministry places a statement on the Title Deed stating that you may not sell your property for 3 years but you still can use it or rent it. Finally, your application will be sent to the General Directorate of Civil Registration and Nationality and you will receive your Turkish ID card and Turkish passport. The process is expected to be completed within 30 to 60 days. In the meantime, you can receive a temporary residence permit to reside in Turkey.
